Chelsea fans are concerned about Andrey Santos' prospects of playing time due to Nottingham Forest's latest transfer pursuit.

The Brazilian has officially joined Forest on loan, with the Blues hoping that he will earn plenty of minutes at the City Ground. Santos had mightily impressed in pre-season, so there was some surprise about the decision to loan the 19-year-old, but it did appear a sensible decision given that Chelsea are absolutely stacked in midfield following the signings of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

There were also suggestions that this move could pave the way for Brennan Johnson to move the other way, with Chelsea still in the market for a creative attacker to add firepower to a frontline that has thus far only really impressed against lowly Luton.

Fabrizio Romano, however, poured cold water on those rumours, stating that there were no concrete negotiations between Chelsea and Forest over Johnson. In fact, Tottenham now appear keen on the 22-year-old.

As for Santos, questions are now being raised about his ostensibly sensible loan to the East Midlands.

Forest want Ndidi

That is because Forest are now trying to engineer a deal for Leicester's Wilfred Ndidi. The heir to N'Golo Kante at the King Power Stadium, Ndidi would rival Santos for minutes in the defensive midfield position if a move were to materialise, though he can also deputise at centre-back.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Twitter: "Nottingham Forest set to bid for Wilfred Ndidi, proposal expected to be submitted soon for Nigerian DM as he’s top target. Understand personal terms have been agreed and negotiations will now start between clubs. Forest will push to make it happen."

One Chelsea fan account responded with "wonder if we can recall Andrey Santos already," while plenty of others also aired their concerns. Game time could be hard to come for Santos should Ndidi join Forest.
