Arsenal are set to complete three pieces of business in the transfer market imminently, according to Fabrizio Romano.

After Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta got much of the work completed for the club’s incoming players early in the window, the Gunners have been in a phase of shedding players from the Emirates.

Among the most notable to depart is Scotland international left-back Kieran Tierney, who has joined Real Sociedad in Spain, but more are set to follow in the hours before Deadline Day, Romano states.

Folarin Balogun’s transfer to Monaco will be made official, with the USMNT international set to present the Gunners with up to €40 million, although reports suggest that only €30m of this will come up front. Romano does note, however, that there is a sell-on clause in the deal.

On top of this, Arsenal are set to receive a €2.3m (£2m) windfall from sending Nuno Tavares on loan to Nottingham Forest, which is a deal he indicates will be completed imminently. The documents will be signed on Wednesday, Romano announced on X, although it is unclear exactly when the announcement will be made.

Forest will sign Murillo from Corinthians at the same time, he says, while the two-time European champions are also close to landing former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi from Fenerbahce.

Two down, one to go

One deal that is slightly more distant for Arsenal is that of central defender Rob Holding.

Romano says that Mallorca are in talks with the Gunners over a potential deal and that negotiations are ongoing with the Spanish side.

Should these breakdown, there is the possibility that Holding remains in the Premier League, with Luton Town having made a call to the Emirates side on Monday over the possibility of signing the 27-year-old former Bolton player.
