Arsenal in danger of losing SEVEN players for FREE

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is not only in the process of making important transfer decisions about his team in the summer window, but he is also planning his squad in the long term.

One of the important considerations that he has to take into account is those players with contracts that expire in June 2024.

This is one of the final two opportunities that Arsenal have to make significant money for these players in the transfer market. Even by the time the January transfer window rolls around, their values will have dropped significantly if there has been no further movement on their deals.

So this is very much a time to decide whether to cash in on these players or offer them new contracts.

Arsenal have seven players in this position at present.

Arteta and technical director Edu been shrewd enough to ensure that all their players with significant sell-on value are tied to long-term deals, which is one of the reasons that the Gunners are currently working on a new deal with Martin Odegaard two years before his contract is up.

Which Arsenal players are out of contract in 2024?

Jorginho is the most notable Arsenal player whose deal expires in 2024, with the Italy international having been linked with a possible move elsewhere this summer. There are seven others at the club, however, who could leave as free agents at the end of the season.

Rob Holding is the one who has most recently been involved in the first-team squad, although the centre-back is reserved for use in emergencies.

Mohamed Elneny has become something of a forgotten figure at the Emirates, having played only eight times last season due to a succession of injuries.

Cedric Soares, Alex Runarsson, Arthur Okonkwo and Nicolas Pepe all spent away from Arsenal on loan deals last season and are not expected to play significant first-team roles this season.

Arteta is likely to view all of these players as expendable and if suitable transfer offers were to arrive, all could depart. Finding suitors for this group of misfits, however, has proven to be a tricky assignment.
