Liverpool’s forthcoming transfers have become clearer thanks to the squad that manager Jurgen Klopp has named for the pre-season trip to Germany.

Much speculation has surrounded the future of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, who have both been linked with transfers to the Saudi Pro League, and the fate of these players has become a little more evident.

Brazil international Fabinho, 29, has been subject to a €46.5 million (£40m) offer from Al-Ittihad, while there have been rumours that England star Henderson, 33, has been offered an enormous contract to move to the Gulf.

Fabinho has been left out of the Liverpool pre-season squad, suggesting that he will leave the Anfield club this summer to join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Roberto Firmino, Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante in the Saudi Pro League.

On the other hand, Henderson will travel with the Liverpool squad, despite indications that he has agreed terms on a move. The Athletic has reported that the Reds want €23m (£20m) for the player, with Al-Ittihad only willing to pay half that. The saga is, therefore, set to continue.

Caicedo to Liverpool latest

According to Neil Jones, Klopp is seeking a midfielder who will join the club immediately – and this means it won’t be Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.

Although there remains an admiration for the player, who himself remains open to a move to Liverpool, the Anfield club are not currently chasing the player because of the enormous price tag that Brighton have put on his head.

Caicedo is instead destined to join Chelsea for a fee that could reach something in the region of €100m.

As such, Liverpool are exploring other options, with Romeo Lavia, Sofyan Amrabat and Ryan Gravenberch all linked.
