Glazers takeover stalling costs Man Utd chance to hijack PERFECT player

Manchester United's hopes of signing the perfect player have been dashed owing to the Glazer’s intent on dragging the takeover saga out across the summer transfer window.

The club are on the lookout for a centre-back but will have to buy to sell for such a position because their funds will have to be put towards buying a forward and a midfielder.

An ideal fit would have been Josko Gvardiol - who has been linked with a Premier League move. RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose has knocked rumours suggesting that the German club have agreed to sell Gvardiol to Manchester City, despite reports to the contrary.

The youngster has been linked with a move to the Citizens, but a deal is not as far along as first thought.

FootballTransfers had a look at the data from SciSports and Man Utd are one of the player’s best fits for future clubs.

Real Madrid are considered the best fit, then Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, Newcastle, and the Red Devils.

The 21-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium throughout this summer, but things could really open up now following the words of his club's sporting director Max Eberl

Talks have taken place between the two teams but Eberl has said that a move is not near.

Eberl: "A lot has been written anyway and the latest information about Josko surprised us all. But as you can see: Josko is here [at pre-season camp] - so it's not true.

"He didn't do a medical check - not that we know. And I don't think he did it behind our backs because he's just a full professional."

So far the Bundesliga club refusing to lower their €100m (£85.4m) valuation of the Croatian, though it’s believed that a move will take place soon.
