Erik ten Hag has implored Manchester United to show ambition in signing Harry Kane this summer window.

The Telegraph reports that the Dutchman is hot on the wheels in pursuit of Tottenham’s all-time goalscorer and wants his clubs’ hierarchy to make the move possible.

Ten Hag has laid out his plans clearly, with a marquee striker being a key component to his summer plans.

The Dutchman wants the club to seal the move for Kane, even though they will have to contend with Daniel Levy, the Spurs chairman, who does not wish to sell the star to a Premier League rival.

Kane is coming into the final year of his contract with Spurs, meaning unless they can persuade him to sign fresh terms he will be able to leave on a free the following year.

It comes after the news that Man Utd have agreed personal terms with Mason Mount.

The Chelsea midfielder looks set to sign for Man Utd, with the Blues also granting permission for Manchester City to talk to Mateo Kovacic.

Chelsea are planning a huge overhaul at Chels ahead of Mauricio Pochettino taking up the reigns.

Mount, who is also wanted by Liverpool and Arsenal, is now a prime target for Man Utd.

The deal will come as a blow for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who has targeted Mount and Brighton player Alexis Mac Allister.

Ten Hag is confident he can persuade the 24-year-old to join at Old Trafford and wants his club to meet his ambition and secure the move for the England international.

Ten Hag regards Mount as one of two key signings in the window. Indeed, personal terms were settled on Thursday and Mount is edging towards becoming a Man Utd player.
