World Cup hero demands Real Madrid move

Josko Gvardiol has asked for a move to Real Madrid.

The centre-back has been linked to Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid - but it’s the latter who he wants.

A report via journalist Tomas Gonzalez Martin states that he has informed Los Blancos that he wants to join in the summer - as well as Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Earlier this month, the RB Leipzig defender spoke about the rumours linking him to Ancelotti's side: "Madrid are the biggest club in the world, so who knows... maybe one day I could play there. I would like to play for that team, yes."

The defender also talked about his relationship with compatriot Luka Modric: "Luka has nothing to say to me about Madrid, there's no need. I already know everything, I know how important it is to be linked to a club like that."

Vlahovic linked with Real move

Indeed, Vlahovic is another in contention.

It is thought that Vlahovic is unhappy at Serie A club Juventus and the 22-year-old Serbian international has offered himself to the Spanish giants.

The Old Lady paid €70 million to sign the player from fellow Serie A club Fiorentina but the move hasn’t panned out as some have thought.

Vlahovic has been linked with the move to the Premier League in recent months and Juventus will be hoping to recoup the fee they paid for him.

Of course, a lot will depend on whether Florentino Perez is willing to break the bank for both in the next window.

Meanwhile, Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has vowed to keep fighting in the La Liga title race even though his side missed a chance to close the gap to arch-rivals leaders Barcelona with a 0-0 draw against third-placed Real Sociedad.

Ancelotti said: “We are five points behind, so we have to run.”

"Barcelona are doing very well, but there is a long way to go. January has been tough, but the team has grown and is going to start to improve. We will fight."

"We compete well in every game, but [talk of] winning the league seems a bit early to me," he added.
