Eduardo Camavinga: Fabrizio Romano gives response to Arsenal transfer rumour

There is “no chance” that Real Madrid will allow Eduardo Camavinga to leave the club for Arsenal during the January transfer window, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Camavinga excelled as Los Blancos won the Champions League last season, providing a stream of effective cameo performances off the bench as Carlo Ancelotti’s side produced a string of miracles to go all the way in the competition.

This term, though, the midfielder, who was part of the France squad that went all the way to the World Cup final in Qatar before losing out to Argentina in the final, has proven more complicated for the former Rennes player, who is still only 20 years old.

Such have been Camavinga’s displays that there has been talk about sending him out on loan to gain first-team experience, with Arsenal a surprise name in the mix.

Romano, though, says there is absolutely no prospect of that happening.

“There's absolutely no chance for Real Madrid to change their stance on Eduardo Camavinga. He will stay as the club considers him key player for present and future of Madrid,” he said on Twitter. “All parties deny potential loan deal for the French midfielder.”

What have Real Madrid said about Camavinga?

Following Sunday’s 2-0 win over Athletic Club, Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti commented on the performance of Camavinga, specifically bringing up the young player when asked about Karim Benzema.

The coach said: “Benzema has returned with all his quality. It brings us a lot and we are very satisfied. Personally I also want to highlight Camavinga; spectacular game.”

Camavinga has had an inconsistent season to date, but his performances have stepped up since the World Cup break and was widely considered to be one of Real Madrid’s best players in Sunday’s encounter, having been given a start due to the absence of Aurelien Tchouameni because of injury.
