Erling Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta claims interest surrounding her client is a ‘very nice thing’ after the forward’s flying start to life in the Premier League.

Haaland joined Manchester City in the summer from Borussia Dortmund and has had a great start to life in the Premier League, scoring 18 times.

He has already been linked with moves away with Real Madrid rumoured to be interested, however, there have also been suggestions that Manchester City may move to renew his contract with the club.

Now, it has emerged that his agent is inviting transfer rumours but that the Norwegian must be protected from the media’s reports.

Interest in Haaland is 'nice'

Speaking to Marca, Pimenta explained the interest in him and media reports linking him with a move away from the club.

She said: "You have to do it [ask the question about the release clause] and it is very interesting. If we don’t say anything, surely something is interpreted and if we say something, too. As a lawyer, I know that I can’t say anything, but I also know that if I don’t say it, they will say it.

"It’s a very nice thing [the rumours], but I hope there aren’t too many. I understand the attention, the curiosity that arouses. It’s the novelty. Curiosity is normal, but I hope with Erling, when there are no things to say, they don’t make them up. This is something that is happening. They look for easy clicks. There is exaggerated news."

"Haaland must be protected from this situation because he is a very young boy who still has to grow up. Everything is news around him, but it has to be because of his goals and his way of playing. I don’t want other things to come."

There have been reports Haaland could go to Real Madrid in 2024 thanks to a specific clause in his contract, however, he is tied down to Manchester City until 2027.
