Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been offered a way out of his nightmare stint at Manchester United.

The right-back arrived at Old Trafford in 2019 after shining at boyhood club Crystal Palace, joining the Premier League giants for an initial fee of £45 million.

But in spite of beginning his time with the Red Devils as a regular starter he has lost his way as of late, falling out of the starting line-up last term following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal.

Diogo Dalot has pushed his way ahead of Wan-Bissaka in the United pecking order this season, leaving him stranded on the sidelines.

The defender has made just one Premier League appearance so far in 2022-23 and appears to be surplus to requirements under Erik ten Hag.

Now, an escape route may be on the horizon in the shape of his former employers.

The Sun reports that Palace are open to a deal that would bring Wan-Bissaka back to Selhurst Park, with discussions already taking place amongst club directors over a summer approach.

The nature of that move is still under consideration, depending on whether United would sanction a loan deal to the Eagles or a permanent switch back.

Croydon-born Wan-Bissaka joined the Palace academy at the age of 11 and worked his way through the academy ranks before making his first-team debut aged 20 in February 2018.

He went on to make six further appearances for the Eagles that season before becoming a regular first-teamer in his first and only full term in a Palace shirt during 2018-19, winning rave reviews for his defending and earning the title of the club's player of the year.
