Manchester United's search for a new right-back has seen them land on AS Monaco star Vanderson as they looked to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Erik ten Hag has made several changes to the Man Utd squad since arriving at Old Trafford, including dropping Wan-Bissaka in favour of Portuguese international Diogo Dalot.

However, right-back is still an area of concern, and Man Utd remain in the hunt for an upgrade in that position.

Barcelona's Sergino Dest and Lyon's Malo Gusto have both been linked with a move to the Red Devils, but a move for either hasn't yet progressed. Furthermore, Thomas Meunier and Denzel Dumfries are also rumoured targets.

Now, reports from Spain suggest that Monaco's Vanderson has entered the fray as a possible signing to fill the hole currently in existence at right-back. The Brazilian is reportedly also wanted by Barcelona, meaning Man Utd may be forced to fight off the Blaugrana to seal his signature.

The 21-year-old joined Monaco from Gremio in January, but has already been linked with a move away thanks to his impressive form in the Principality. According to AS, Man Utd want to sign Vanderson this summer, and have made enquiries with the player’s representatives. Furthermore, they have reportedly asked to be kept informed of any activity from Barcelona and have promised to better any bid submitted by the Blaugrana.

The only complication is that Vanderson has just signed a new contract at Monaco, keeping him at the club until 2027.

Wan-Bissaka to leave?

According to reports, Wan-Bissaka is one name on a list of potential right-backs that Barcelona are interested in signing, giving Man Utd the perfect way out to sell the former Crystal Palace star.

In addition to that, Patrick Vieira's side were linked with a move to bring Wan-Bissaka back to Selhurst Park earlier in the window, however, the Eagles haven't pursued a move for the player as of yet.
