Steven Gerrrard's Aston Villa side endured a disappointing start to the 2022-23 season, throwing the spotlight on the Liverpool legend.
Villa went down to newly promoted Bournemouth on Saturday, conceding to Jefferson Lerma and Kieffer Moore in a 2-0 reverse.

Taking into account results from the end of last season the Birmingham side are now winless in their last five Premier League outings, and fans will expect better for a team that includes international talent like goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Digne.
Gerrard enjoys a burgeoning reputation as a manager, following up a title-winning campaign with Rangers in Scotland by steering Villa clear of relegation in 2021-22 after taking over from Dean Smith.
The raw numbers, however, paint a rather different picture.
At this point in his tenure at Villa Park the former England midfielder has actually fared worse than Gary Neville during his infamous spell at Valencia.
He has won just 10 Premier League games in 35, while tasting defeat on 13 occasions.

Gerrard's reaction to latest defeat
Speaking after Saturday's defeat, Gerrard admitted that he was frustrated at how the game turned out.
“A really frustrating result and a frustrating day,” he said.
“We got what we deserved over the course of the game. A lot of focus will be on two set play moments but if you look across the board and across the game we haven’t shown enough quality.
“We didn’t look like creating today, which is on me and on us and it’s a big area that we need to improve upon.
“We gave ourselves a more difficult challenge in the opening minutes from a set play, but we’ve had more than enough time to get back into the game.
“We had long periods of possession, we had a lot of control, we got to the last areas of the pitch but we were lacking from a quality point of view – certainly in the final third.”
Villa will be back in action on Saturday, when they host Everton at Villa Park.
