Arsenal have been looking to sign Pedro Neto from Wolves, but it’s looking incredibly unlikely with the transfer deadline approaching.

All Premier League clubs have until 11 p.m. on Thursday evening – 1 September – to get their transfer business done and it’s looking like Arsenal won’t be able to strike a deal with Wolves by then.

The Gunners have already been busy this summer, having signed Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko before the start of the season.

However, Arsenal have been interested in signing another winger, and while Neto probably won’t be joining, Arsenal have alternatives planned.

Arsenal have options to choose from

It’s believed that Wolves want over £50 million at this stage of the window for Neto and that has slimmed chances of Mikel Arteta’s side making a move for the player.

Arsenal have been interested in bringing in a player for the wings, having previously targeted names like Raphinha, who ended up going to Barcelona.

There could be other options for the club, with Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha being one choice, while Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio is another possibility, especially given he wants to leave the Spanish and European champions.

Additionally, there has also been interest in PSV’s Cody Gakpo, but that move may be slightly complicated as other European and English sides are also interested in him.

Some Arsenal players could fill up that void – Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are the obvious ones – while, new signing Vieira can play across the attack, according to Arteta, who has identified this in training.

Marquinhos, another summer transfer, is also an option while Reiss Nelson, who had an impressive loan spell at Feyenoord last season and has recovered from injury, could take up the role.

Arsenal have alternatives for the position and they may not just have to look at options outside their squad, with many within the team having the chance to grow.
