Liverpool may have lost Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich but the Reds are planning to bolt down much of the squad left over to new contracts.

Mane left Liverpool for Bayern Munich in a €41 million/£35m deal in June, bringing an end to a glittering six-year stay at Anfield.

Fans concerned that other stars might follow suit had those fears allayed when Mohamed Salah penned a new three-year deal, and Joe Gomez was the next to extend on Friday - the defender signing a five-year deal.

Gomez: 'the sky's the limit'

"I think as a group, the sky is the limit," Gomez said. "We want to go one, if not two, better than last season and aim for it all. We definitely have the ability to do that and the belief is there, it's just about us taking it one game at a time..."

It appears Liverpool aren't about to stop there, either, with the Daily Mirror reporting that there are more fresh deals to follow.

"Liverpool could agree contract extensions with midfielder Naby Keita and forward Diogo Jota in the coming weeks as Jurgen Klopp aims to ensure his squad are settled beyond the short-term ahead of a renewed Premier League title charge," they write.

Keita has had mixed success since his €57/£48m arrival from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2018, but last season's 14 Premier League starts were twice as many as the campaign before, and the Guinean provides some welcome depth in midfield.

Diogo Jota's position in attack has come under threat from the €100m summer signing of Darwin Nunez from Benfica, but the Portuguese has exceeded expectations since his own €53/£45m transfer from Wolves two seasons ago.

Jota contributed 21 goals and eight assists in all competitions last term as Liverpool finished as runners-up to Manchester City in the Premier League and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
