Though transfers can be agreed before any regulated window, deals will only become official when the market opens in the respective countries and leagues.

As always, the opening of the transfer window will bring with it plenty of speculation and rumours about players joining other clubs and moving countries and leagues.

This year, the spotlight will be keenly on the likes of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.
