Victor Osimhen: FIFA to intervene in transfer as official announcement planned
Galatasaray are yet to finalise a deal with Napoli for Victor Osimhen and they are prepared to take the matter to FIFA in order to settle their ongoing dispute with the Serie A outfit.
Osimhen, 26, has agreed personal terms with Galatasaray and he is eager to rejoin the club on a permanent basis following a successful loan spell last season.
The Nigeria international scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances for Galatasaray last term and he has set his sights on completing a move to Istanbul, despite significant interest from Al-Hilal.
The Saudi Pro League side submitted a contract proposal worth a whopping €160 million across four years, but Osimhen opted to reject this offer in favour of prioritising a permanent transfer to Galatasaray.
However, the Turkish outfit are yet to reach a total agreement with Napoli, despite being locked in negotiations for weeks.
FIFA to get involved in Victor Osimhen transfer
Galatasaray have agreed to pay Osimhen’s €75m release clause in several installments, with a €40m up-front fee and the remaining €35m to be paid within two years, according to AS.
The Spanish outlet also claim that Galatasaray will provide Napoli with bank guarantees that this payment will go through.
However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis reportedly now wants a 20% sell-on clause to be included, as well as a guarantee that Osimhen will not be sold to an Italian club within the next three years.
AS report that Galatasaray aren’t prepared to match these demands and they are instead willing to take the matter to FIFA “if De Laurentiis insists on making additional demands that defy the rules of logic.”
Despite this, Galatasaray reportedly remain confident that Osimhen will join the club this summer and they are planning to officially announce his arrival in the coming days.
