Transfer Rumours: Alessandro Bastoni deal 'in motion' as Chelsea bid lands
FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 1 July, including the latest updates on Alessandro Bastoni, Pep Chavarria and Sandro Tonali.
Real Madrid working on Bastoni deal
Real Madrid have launched their "operation" to sign Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni, according to AS.
The Italy international previously held talks over a transfer to Barcelona, but these discussions came to nothing. It is now Real Madrid's turn to try and strike a deal for the centre-back.
It is claimed that the relationship with Inter is excellent and that the Serie A giants would be open to selling Bastoni for a deal in the region of €60 million. He has become Jose Mourinho's top target, and this potential transfer is "in motion."
Chelsea make Chavarria bid
Chelsea are getting serious over their surprising interest in Rayo Vallecano left-back Pep Chavarria, as per Mundo Deportivo.
The 28-year-old has emerged as a wildcard option to replace Real Madrid-bound Marc Cucurella, with Xabi Alonso having decided that he wants another player capable of playing at left-back.
Numerous reliable journalists have confirmed that Chelsea's interest is genuine and that club-to-club talks with Rayo are in full swing. It is now stated that an opening €9 million bid has been made.
Spurs agree Tonali terms
Tottenham have agreed personal terms with Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali, TEAMtalk claims.
The Italy star has been offered a "mega-money" deal by the North London club and is understood to be keen on the move. Spurs are prepared to pay more than €100m for Tonali, but Elliot Anderson's Man City transfer could complicate the matter.
Newcastle believe that Tonali is worth a similar fee to the €134m Nottingham Forest will receive for Anderson. As a result, it remains up in the air whether Spurs will be able to finalise a deal, though they have already agreed the signing of Mateus Fernandes from West Ham.
Two-horse Scott race
Arsenal and Man Utd are the only serious contenders to sign Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, Sky Sports writes.
The 22-year-old has emerged as a serious target now that Mateus Fernandes has been snapped up by Spurs, but it remains unclear whether a move is feasible this summer.
Bournemouth do not wish to sell and are in talks with Scott over a new deal. They are prepared to include a release clause in the contract so as to make an extension more palatable.
Trossard to be sold?
Arsenal are ready to accept a €20m offer from Besiktas for Leandro Trossard, Sporx asserts.
The Belgium international is a long-standing target for the Turkish club. Besiktas already explored a deal last year, but Trossard decided to stay at Arsenal after being offered a pay increase.
The situation could be different this time around, with Arsenal prepared to sell. The final decision ultimately rests with the player. Besiktas want a quick answer as their season kicks off in just three weeks with Champions League qualifying.
