Galatasaray decision

Osimhen has decided to snub interest from Al-Hilal in order to re-join Galatasaray on a permanent deal this summer, as per Corriere dello Sport.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a successful loan spell in Turkey last season and he has reportedly set his sights on completing a move back to Istanbul.

Galatasaray are set to offer Osimhen an annual salary of €16m, and after a long deliberation, it appears that the Nigeria international forward is now ready to accept this offer.

However, a fee has not yet been agreed with Napoli.

Deal to be finalised this week

Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has confirmed that Galatasaray will hold talks with Osimhen this week in order to finalise his permanent move to the club.

Sabuncuoglu has also revealed that Manchester United “really want Osimhen”, but the Nigeria forward has rejected a move to Old Trafford due to their request for him to reduce his wage demands.

Galatasaray offer confirmed

Meanwhile, transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Galatasaray have submitted an official offer to Napoli as they look to secure Osimhen's signature.

He posted on X: "Galatasaray have sent initial bid for Victor Osimhen for €50m plus €5m… while Napoli want more. Osimhen, keen in return to Gala but deal depends on club to club talks.

"Al Hilal remain involved in race with plan to pay €75m clause but no agreement with Victor yet."

Al-Hilal plan

However, Al-Hilal are still determined to win the race for Osimhen’s signature and they are set to resume talks with the forward this week, as per L’Equipe.

The Saudi Pro League outfit have already submitted a contract proposal worth €160m across four years and they are set to hold renewed negotiations in an attempt to beat Galatasaray to Osimhen’s signature.

Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic has reportedly been earmarked as a possible alternative.

Chelsea verdict

Chelsea were heavily linked with a move for Osimhen for over a year, but they eventually opted to end their pursuit of his signature after signing Liam Delap in June.

That decision has been praised by club legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who told The Obi One Podcast: “I know he’s your countryman but I’m not convinced of Osimhen for the Premier League.

“‘For Spain, for Italy - yes. For the Premier League? I’m not 100% sure.”

Hasselbaink added: “I really like Jackson. Why? Because he brings a lot of energy to the team and people don’t see that. The pressing from the front, the work-rate - all that kind of stuff is so important for a successful team.

“Then he gets lots of chances. He needs to get better at finishing, but I’d rather have a striker who gets lots of chances than a striker who doesn’t get chances.”
