Celtic are reportedly ready to go “all out” to sign Verona striker Kieron Bowie after missing out on his signature during the winter transfer window.

The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Celtic Park in January, following a string of excellent performances for Hibernian, however they were beaten to a deal by Hellas Verona, who paid €6 million to bring him to Italy.

Bowie scored four goals in 14 games during the second half of the season, but he couldn’t prevent the club from suffering relegation to Serie B and he was subsequently excluded from Scotland’s squad for the 2026 World Cup. However, he could be set to secure an immediate return to his homeland amid significant transfer interest from Celtic.

The Hoops are set to announce the arrival of Camilo Duran as their first summer signing, with Martin O’Neill confirming that a deal will be completed, and they have now turned their attention to finalising an agreement to sign Bowie.

That is according to Corriere di Verona (via The Daily Record), who claim that Celtic are ready to go “all out” to sign the striker this summer as they look to bolster their forward options.

It’s reported that Hellas Verona boss Marco Baroni has informed club chiefs to keep Bowie at the club this summer, but a move away appears to be on the cards and Celtic are currently leading the race to acquire his signature before the start of the 2026-27 season.

Bowie has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of just €2.7 million, although it’s understood that Hellas Verona have set an asking price of roughly €15m as they look to maximise the potential fee they could earn this summer.

The 23-year-old is reportedly considering a return to Scotland and Celtic would also be able to offer him European football next season, which could prove crucial in their bid to lure him away from Italy.

Celtic eye breakout World Cup star

In addition to Bowie, it’s claimed that Celtic are also keeping tabs on Egypt forward Haissem Hassan, who caught the eye for his country at the World Cup.

Real Oviedo are open to accepting a sale following their relegation from La Liga and Celtic have reportedly launched a formal bid worth just over €4m amid significant competition from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Hassan has a release clause just shy of €12m, but a lower figure will be required to sign him as Real Oviedo look to raise funds.
