Leeds United forward Joe Gelhardt reportedly wants to join Rangers on a permanent deal when his loan spell at Hull City ends this summer.
The 23-year-old has just one year remaining on his current contract at Elland Road and it’s understood that he is keen to explore his options ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window following an excellent season at Hull.

Gelhardt initially joined the Tigers on loan last January and after a successful stint, he opted to return to the club on a season-long deal over the summer. Since returning to the MKM Stadium in August, the Englishman has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 34 Championship games, and he has been pivotal in their bid to secure a place in the play-off places.
Gelhardt has been handed a prominent role by Hull boss Sergej Jakirovic this term and he recently admitted that he would be open to rejoining the club this summer.
“I've loved every minute of it again,” Gelhardt told Hull Live. “Last season, I loved it here, even though times were quite difficult. I think I made the correct decision coming back. It has been the best season so far in my career, and I've found my best form. So it was the right decision, and I'm buzzing with that.”
When asked if he would sign a permanent deal with the club, Gelhardt replied: “It'd be stupid to say no because I've played my best year of football here; it's obviously more difficult than just making a decision, but yeah.
“I'm enjoying it that much. I love playing for this club. Nothing's certain in football, and things change, but we can only take it game by game. I think everyone knows how much I love it here.”
However, it has now been claimed that Gelhardt wants to join Rangers instead.

Gelhardt has been linked with a move to Rangers for the past few weeks and Football Insider report that he is “keen” to complete an Ibrox switch this summer.
It’s stated that Danny Rohl’s side are currently the frontrunners to sign the 23-year-old, with the forward expected to leave Leeds on a permanent transfer ahead of next season.
Rangers finalised a deal for Ryan Naderi during the winter transfer window, but he has only scored one goal in eight league games since his arrival and the Scottish giants are ready to dip back into the market in order to sign Gelhardt this summer.
