The Finland international has moved to Ibrox in a €6 million deal, making him the biggest sale in the Deventer outfit's history. Antman has also become the most expensive transfer of the nascent Russell Martin era at Rangers.

The 23-year-old is coming off a real breakout season with Go Ahead Eagles, having notched seven goals and a whopping 16 assists in 36 games across all competitions last term.

FootballTransfers Netherlands correspondent Milan Keskin believes that the forward will be a 'real asset' for Rangers. "Antman’s transfer doesn’t come as a surprise in the Netherlands," Keskin said. "Last season, he was one of the best wingers in the Eredivisie.

"His pace made him a constant threat, and he played a big role in Go Ahead Eagles’ success. So the fact that he’s leaving for a record fee isn’t really shocking. He was by far the club’s most valuable player.

"I think Antman’s qualities can make him a real asset for Rangers. He’s great at setting up strikers. In fact, he had the most assists in the Eredivisie last season (15).

"On top of his speed and crossing ability, his versatility is a big plus, too. In the past, Antman played as a left winger for FC Groningen and FC Nordsjaelland. At Go Ahead Eagles, he mostly played on the right, and honestly, that seems to suit him better."

Can Antman play against Viktoria Plzen?

Yes, Oliver Antman will be eligible to play against Viktoria Plzen in the third Champions League qualifying round on Tuesday, provided Rangers register him before midnight.

Last week, Martin's side successfully saw off Greek giants Panathinaikos in the second round, winning 3-1 on aggregate after a 2-0 victory in the first leg and a 1-1 draw in the second.

Rangers will square up with Czech runners-up Plzen at Ibrox on 5 August before travelling east for the return fixture on 12 August at the Doosan Arena.

The announcement of Antman has come just in time for Rangers to have him available tomorrow, although it remains to be seen if Martin is willing to throw him into the deep end straight away.

He should be fit and raring to go, however, as he did not feature for Go Ahead Eagles in their 2-1 loss to PSV in the Johan Cruyff Shield on Sunday.
