Rangers have had an exciting transfer window that was capped by the loan signing of Mikey Moore from Tottenham, but Russell Martin’s side should not ignore a transfer opportunity that is growing in the Netherlands.

Feyenoord have announced that they are ready to part ways with either Ayase Ueda or Julian Carranza, and this is a chance that the Ibrox club should not pass up, according to data analytics firm SciSports.

The Glasgow outfit look a perfect fit for Carranza, who was signed last summer to act as a third-choice striker behind Santiago Gimenez.

Having arrived as a free agent, he performed this task well. His most important goal came in the Champions League knockout round against AC Milan. It was one of five strikes he managed while with the Rotterdam side.

Despite this commendable effort, he’s on his way out. Feyenoord have already signed Casper Tengstedt and they also want El Bilal Toure of Atalanta.

Why is Carranza a good fit for Rangers?

There has been little concrete interest in the Feyenoord striker so far this summer, but Rangers look to be an excellent option for him if he wants to get back on the field regularly.

When prioritising playing time, the 25-year-old striker has a Club Fit rating of 90 for the Gers, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €5.4m isn’t outside of the Ibrox’s club price range if either Cyriel Dessers or Hamza Igamane departs.

Both have been linked with moves away from Glasgow this summer, and the arrival of Moore from Spurs suggests at least one will go. It remains a possibility that both are sold, though.

On top of this, Rangers would also provide Carranza with a strong fit in terms of both their playing style but also their formation.
