TRANSFER RUMOURS: Jude Bellingham reaches 'agreement' as Chelsea deal completed
FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 17 February, including the latest updates on Jude Bellingham and George Jobling.
Jude Bellingham agreement
Jude Bellingham has “agreed” to join Manchester United this summer if Real Madrid appoint Jurgen Klopp as their new manager, according to El Nacional.
Klopp, 58, has been heavily tipped to become the next permanent Los Blancos boss this summer and despite the German’s reputation as a world class coach, Bellingham reportedly believes that his role would diminish under the Liverpool legend.
As a result, he has explored a potential transfer away from the Bernabeu and he has reached an agreement with Man Utd, as per El Nacional.
Chelsea deal confirmed
Tottenham have officially completed the signing of Chelsea youngster George Jobling, according to The Secret Scout.
The England U16 captain will reportedly sign professional terms with Spurs when he turns 17 years old in 2027 and his arrival represents a major coup for the north London giants.
Dominik Szoboszlai update
Vinicius Junior has fuelled speculation that Dominik Szoboszlai could join Real Madrid this summer by confirming he is in regular contact with the Liverpool superstar.
Szoboszlai, 25, has emerged as a target for Los Blancos amid their pursuit of a new central midfielder and they have been tipped to chase a deal when the 2026 summer transfer window opens.
Hungary boss Marco Rossi has confirmed that Szoboszlai “dreams” of playing for Real Madrid and although the Liverpool star has revealed that contract extension talks are ongoing, an agreement has not yet been reached.
Furthermore, rumours of a summer move to Real Madrid have now sparked into life after Vinicius Jr revealed that he frequently speaks to Szoboszlai.
Barcelona want Marcus Thuram
Barcelona are interested in signing Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram amid their pursuit of a suitable replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
That is according to Spanish publication Fichajes, who claim that Thuram is being actively considered by the Blaugrana hierarchy as they scour the European market for a player capable of becoming their new starting number nine.
Lewandowski is currently due to become a free agent in July and although rumours have suggested he could be handed a one-year contract extension, he is being seriously pursued by MLS outfit Chicago Fire ahead of a potential blockbuster Bosman move.
As a result, Barcelona are likely to be in the market for a new striker this summer and Thuram has reportedly been identified as an alternative to Julian Alvarez.
Nicolas Jackson to return to Chelsea
Nicolas Jackson is expected to return to Chelsea this summer, with Bayern Munich extremely unlikely to sign him on a permanent deal when his loan spell at the club ends.
The Senegal international joined Vincent Kompany’s side on a season-long loan deal for €16.5 million and the agreement included an obligation to buy for €65m if Jackson made 40 appearances across the Bundesliga and Champions League.
He would also be required to play at least 45 minutes in all 40 games for the clause to be triggered, but Jackson has only achieved this feat on seven occasions so far this term after being unable to work his way into the preferred starting XI at the Allianz Arena.
Widespread rumours have hinted that Bayern will opt against signing Jackson permanently this summer and The Times have now confirmed that he is expected to return to Chelsea when his loan deal ends in July.
Hayden Hackney to Man Utd?
Manchester United will be in the mix to sign Middlesbrough star Hayden Hackney this summer, according to TEAMtalk.
It is claimed that Man Utd's recruitment team continues to closely follow Hackney's exploits at Boro, as it has been doing for some time. Heading into the summer window, the Red Devils' interest is as strong as ever.
Man Utd are planning to sign at least two new midfielders after this season, with the marquee acquisition likely to be a player with Premier League experience, such as Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba or Adam Wharton.
However, the report states that “insiders indicate” that Hackney could be the second summer arrival to add depth and secure a player who could develop into a guaranteed starter further down the line.
