Real Madrid 'don't care' if Vinicius Junior leaves
Real Madrid “don’t care” if Vinicius Junior leaves on a Bosman deal in 2027, according to a sensational report in Spain.
The Brazil superstar is into the final two years of his current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu and lengthy extension negotiations are yet to reach a conclusion.
Vinicius is understood to be demanding a salary in excess of Kylian Mbappe’s €30 million-per-year deal, but Real Madrid are unwilling to match this request, as exclusively revealed by The Transfers Podcast back in March.
As a result, contract extension talks have reached an impasse and Vinicius appears increasingly likely to secure a lucrative move to a club in the Saudi Pro League.
The Brazilian is one of the primary transfer targets for Saudi Arabia and widespread reports indicate that he is expected to play in the Middle East before his retirement.
Vinicius was named on the substitutes bench for Real Madrid’s opening clash of the 2025-26 Champions League campaign last week - versus Marseille - and he faces renewed competition from Rodrygo, Brahim Diaz and summer signing Franco Mastantuono for a starting berth under the new Los Blancos boss.
Vinicius Junior to leave Real Madrid?
Vinicius is yet to lower his wage demands and with Real Madrid unwilling to budge, an exit is certainly on the cards.
This has been confirmed by Spanish journalist Josep Pedrerol, who told El Chiringuito (via Defensa Central): “Real Madrid don't care if Vinícius leaves for free in 2027. They don't care what Vinícius does, the terms of the renewal are stipulated and there's no need to discuss anything.
“If he accepts the first ones you've renewed, if he wants to earn more than Mbappe, he has to leave in a year and a half . Real Madrid aren't going to insist, they've even considered letting him leave for free in a year and a half. Madrid don't want anyone who doesn't want to be at Madrid. If he doesn't want to be there, they won't force him.”
Vinicius, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €102.4m, has scored two goals and provided two assists in six appearances across all competitions so far this season, although the aforementioned Mbappe has taken his place as Real Madrid’s star attacker.
