Los Blancos have been locked in talks with the Brazilian’s representatives for several months, but they have decided to pause discussions in order to elevate the 25-year-old’s form this season.

That is according to Defensa Central, who claim that Xabi Alonso’s side want to avoid further talk of a contract renewal in order to ensure the narrative around Vinicius shifts back towards his performances on the pitch.

They have therefore ended negotiations for the time being and will make a concrete decision on Vinicius’ future further down the line. This has reportedly been agreed by all parties.

The Brazil international registered 41 goal contributions in 58 appearances across all competitions last season, but The Transfers Podcast understands that Real Madrid are currently unwilling to meet his request to earn more than Kylian Mbappe.

Vinicius has displayed no intention of lowering his wage demands, which is why an agreement over a new deal has made little progress over the past few months.

Will Vinicius Jr leave Real Madrid?

Real Madrid are set to receive a €350 million offer from Saudi Arabia for Vinicius Jr at some point over the next three years, as per talkSPORT, with the richest league in football determined to bring the Brazilian to the Middle East.

Reports in Spain indicate that Real Madrid would be willing to sell Vinicius to the Saudi Pro League this summer, although it appears as though a transfer is more likely to go through in 2026 if he decides against signing a new deal.

The Brazilian’s current contract at Real Madrid is due to expire in 2027, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €101.1m - the 18th-highest of any player in world football.
