Barcelona in bizarre transfer MIX-UP with new signing's brother
Barcelona are set to announce the arrival of Roony Bardghji from Copenhagen shortly, but they will not sign his brother Rayan despite reports to the contrary.
The Blaugrana appear to have managed to pull off something of a transfer coup by securing the signing of Bardghji for a relatively trifling sum. Barcelona will pay Copenhagen just €2 million for the services of one of Europe's most highly-rated young attackers.
To be sure, the 'Swedish Messi' is coming off a difficult year after suffering a torn ACL. However, prior to his lengthy injury lay-off, Bardghji was making huge waves with his performances for Copenhagen.
Due to his contract expiring at the end of the year, Barcelona have managed to agree a cut-price fee with the Danish giants, and Bardghji has already arrived in Catalunya and completed his medical.
The only thing still pending is an official announcement by the club, but this could come at any moment, with the deal already finalised.
Barcelona won't sign Bardghji's brother
There have been suggestions that the LaLiga champions have actually managed to strike a two-for-one deal for Bardghji and his younger brother Rayan, who also plays for Copenhagen.
The 15-year-old, four years Roony's junior, has been impressing for Copenhagen's youth sides and scored his first goal for Sweden's U16s in February.
On Friday, reports emerged claiming that Rayan would also move to Barcelona as part of Roony's transfer. However, these claims have since been debunked by journalist Xavi Hernandez Navarro, who initially published the false reporting.
"Sources from the highest level of Barca were saying today at 3:15 PM that Rayan Bardghji was signing with the club as part of the arrival of his brother Roony," Navarro wrote on X.
"Now, they are apologising for the misunderstanding and say that it is not the case. It pisses me off to have to deny this information, but it would be worse to keep it up."
