LaLiga president Javier Tebas expects Kylian Mbappe to sign a five-year contract at Real Madrid.

The Frenchman's move to the Santiago Bernabeu is only a matter of time now. Last week, Mbappe officially announced that he would leave PSG at the end of the season upon the expiration of his contract.

This prompted some confusion in France. Despite having a barbecue with PSG's ultras shortly after his announcement and the fans unveiling a tifo of Mbappe against Toulouse on Sunday, the attacker was booed when he was subbed off.

Mbappe's exit will free up some €200 million in PSG's budget which will be reinvested in several new signings. As for Real Madrid, the megastar will be Los Blancos' latest Galactico, though an official announcement of his signing is not expected to be made until June.

Nevertheless, it seems that a deal has already been wrapped up.

Tebas confirms Mbappe move

At least that's if the words of LaLiga president Javier Tebas are anything to go by. Speaking to Argentine media outlet Olé, the outspoken chief of Spain's top flight essentially confirmed that Mbappe will be a Madrid player and how long his contract will run for.

"Well, he will be Madrid's next year, next season, yes, yes. He is one of the best players in the world. But hey, there are also Vinicius and [Jude] Bellingham. Madrid are going to have a great squad. Of course, that doesn't guarantee winning championships," Tebas said. "Man, if you've been signed to a five-year contract, you've got five seasons of opportunity."

Though nominally a free transfer, Mbappe's move to Real Madrid will still be one of the most lucrative in football history, with Los Blancos parting with an astronomical signing fee to land the Frenchman. With Mbappe spearheading their attack, Real Madrid's domination of European football could continue unabated for the foreseeable future.
