Why Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal is not in EA Sports FC 24

Lamine Yamal is the next big thing from the famed La Masia academy and his breakout campaign suggests he is destined for a hugely successful career.
Of course, players such as Bojan have come out of Barcelona’s esteemed academy with expectations they will become the ‘next Lionel Messi’ before failing to live up to the hype, so Yamal’s development must be managed carefully.
However, he looks to have all the tools needed to become a footballing superstar.

The tricky right-winger is still only 16 years old and he has made a habit of breaking all kinds of records.
Yamal is the youngest player to win La Liga, after achieving the feat last season, and he is the youngest player to ever feature for Barcelona’s first-team.
Furthermore, the teenager recently broke three major records for Spain during a historic September international break for the Barca star.

Yamal became his nation’s youngest ever player, goal-scorer and starter, thanks to his goal off the bench in their 7-0 demolition of Georgia and his inclusion in the starting XI against Cyprus.
However, despite his rise to stardom in such a short period of time, Yamal does not feature in EA Sports FC 24, the rebranded game formerly known as ‘FIFA’.
It is the most popular football video game in the world, but players will not be able to use Yamal this year.
Why is Lamine Yamal not in EA FC 24?
Yamal is not eligible to appear in EA FC 24 due to his age. The game’s rules state that players must be at least 17 years old to feature. As Yamal is still only 16, he is not eligible.
As a result, Yamal must wait until he turns 17 to be added to EA Sports FC 24.
Unfortunately for the Barcelona star, his birthday is not until 13 July 2024. He cannot be used in any EA FC 24 game mode until his 17th birthday, meaning Yamal will not have a card in Ultimate Team or Career Mode for the entire 2023-24 season.
Ansu Fati also had this problem in FIFA 20 following his emergence into the Barcelona senior set-up.
