Barcelona are ready to go head to head with Real Madrid and Liverpool for the signature of Borussia Dortmund prodigy Youssoufa Moukoko.

Moukoko caused a storm in 2020 when he made his senior debut for the Bundesliga side just one day after turning 16.

The forward shattered a string of records during his maiden season, becoming the youngest player and scorer in Bundesliga history as well as overtaking Celestine Babayaro as the Champions League's youngest participant.

Since then Dortmund have been careful to ration Moukoko's first-team appearances, but he is now making a big impact in the German top flight.

The 17-year-old has played all but one of Dortmund's 11 league games to date and netted three goals , easing in the process the transition following the loss of Erling Haaland to Manchester City.

If he continues on this glittering trajectory, however, Moukoko's days at Signal Iduna Park may also be numbered.

According to Sport, the Germany Under-21 international is the latest top prospect to catch the eye at Camp Nou.

Barca are known for swooping early for talent, notably bringing Pedri to the club as a teenager from Las Palmas and signing Pablo Torre from Espanyol over the summer.

Such is Moukoko's potential that the Catalans will face fierce competition for his signature.

Liverpool are believed to be the club best placed to sign the youngster, with manager and former Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp a huge fan.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have also been mentioned as possible destinations for Moukoko, who has racked up more than 50 appearances for his club in spite of being a month short of his 18th birthday still.
