Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa, or simply Endrick, is the name on the lips of the entire football world right now.

The 16-year-old sensation has burst into the Palmeiras first team and caught the eye of some of the planet's biggest teams with his performances as the Brazilian giants push towards the Serie A title.

Endrick further enhanced his reputation on Tuesday when he jumped off the bench to net twice against Copa Libertadores finalists Athletico Paranaense, sealing a 3-1 comeback victory which leaves his club a single win from taking the league crown.

At 16 years, three months and four days, moreover, he became one of the youngest players in history to score in professional football, joining such luminaries as Pele and Diego Maradona in finding the net before turning 17.

Not surprisingly, his incredible progress has not gone unnoticed: but who is in the driving seat to sign Brazil's latest wonderkid?

It is no shock whatsoever to see Madrid's name linked to the Palmeiras prodigy.

The La Liga giants have made a point in recent years of tracking down South American talent early at its source, and have not been afraid to spend in the process.

Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Federico Valverde were all recruited directly from their home nations, sizeable investments which have paid off handsomely for the Merengue in recent years.

Madrid have thus been strongly tipped to make Endrick their next wonderkid signing, while the player himself has also revealed his sympathies for the club, telling Marca in February: "It is a club for whom I have great affection due to Cristiano Ronaldo, who I have always followed.

"It is hugely gratifying to hear they are watching me and going to my games."

Manchester United

Given the Ronaldo links, Endrick may then also look favourably on a potential move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have also been willing to deal across the Atlantic Ocean in the past, notably swooping for Fluminense twins Rafael and Fabio in 2008 and more recently signing Facundo Pellistri from Penarol.

Reports from Brazil have claimed that United scouts were present at Endrick's debut against Coritiba in October and that they have been ordered to keep watching his development in the coming weeks.

Barca were one of the first teams to cast their eye upon the wonderkid earlier in 2022 when he was starring at youth level.

Recent developments, however, in particular their early elimination from the Champions League, have led to a shift in priorities at Camp Nou, with signings likely to bring short-term benefit most important this January.

The Catalans have nevertheless not given up on an eventual transfer, though whether Endrick is willing to wait until next summer remains to be seen.

Paris Saint-Germain

Logically enough for someone dubbed the New Neymar, Endrick has also attracted attention from the employers of the man himself.

According to Marca PSG have already filed a €20 million bid for the teenager's services, setting up yet another battle between the French side and Madrid following the Kylian Mbappe contract saga.
