Barcelona have made Erling Haaland their number one summer transfer target, according to Sport.

Haaland is arguably the hottest young property in Europe after an incredible two years at Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund resisted all interest in Haaland in the summer of 2021 but it is widely expected that the attacker will move on at the end of the 2021-22 campaign when a release clause believed to be around €75 million will be activated in his contract.

Virtually every top club in Europe is interested in signing the 21-year-old, including Manchester United, Bayern Munich, PSG, Manchester United and Chelsea.

It is Real Madrid and Manchester City who are understood to be the favourites to sign the 21-year-old.

But Sport claims that Barcelona have now made Haaland their number one target.

Boosted by their new lucrative Spotify sponsorship deal that is worth €280m, Barcelona are now players in the transfer market again.

Xavi wants to sign a world-class forward in the summer to complete a young, dynamic forward line.

The plan is for Haaland to be flanked by Ansu Fati on the left wing and Ferran Torres on the right wing, with Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang options off the bench.

Xavi will need to offload some forwards first, and Memphis Depay, Luuk de Jong and Martin Braithwaite will all be pushed out, while Ousmane Dembele will leave the club also on a Bosman.

It is believed that Haaland would prefer a move to La Liga and Madrid would also like to bring him to the Spanish capital to line up alongside Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr in attack.

Mbappe is set to join Madrid on a Bosman Transfer this summer when his contract at PSG expires.
