Real Madrid’s Takefusa Kubo set to join Getafe on loan

Real Madrid have had to undergo an unprecedented level of upheaval in recent seasons, as the club has tried to replace the stars of yesteryear with the most exciting talents in European football.

In the past season alone, two World Cup winners departed, with Sergio Ramos leaving for Paris Saint-Germain and Raphael Varane joining Manchester United respectively, while Martin Odegaard completed a permanent transfer to Arsenal.

Despite selling off a number of first-team players, Madrid loaned out even more as youngsters and back-up stars were released in order to pick up some vital game time.

So how are Madrid’s loaned out stars getting on at their respective clubs this season?

How many players do Real Madrid have on loan?

Real Madrid have four players out on loan from the first team, while the Castilla side also has a number of younger players out on loan.

Where is each Real Madrid player on loan?

Brahim Diaz - Milan

Takefusa Kubo - Mallorca

Alvaro Odriozola - Fiorentina

Reinier - Borussia Dortmund

How are they performing?

Brahim Diaz (Milan): Diaz has been solid if not slightly underwhelming in his second loan spell with Milan, registering four goals and four assists in 35 appearances in all competitions.

Takefusa Kubo (Mallorca): Kubo has struggled with injury through part of the season so far, scoring just one goal and one assist in 22 La Liga appearances on loan at Mallorca, but has bagged a goal and two assists in just three Copa del Rey games.

Reinier (Dortmund): Much like his loan spell at the Bundesliga side last season, Reinier continues to struggle to break into the Dortmund first team. The Brazilian has still yet to start in the Bundesliga, making nine appearances off the bench. He has one start in the DFB-Pokal and one in the Champions League.

Borja Mayoral (Roma): Despite making the move to Italy for some more game time, Mayoral has so far only made five appearances for Jose Mourinho's Roma side in Serie A. He has yet to register a single goal or in the Italian top flight.
