Arsenal are on the verge of agreeing a transfer fee with Shakhtar Donetsk for Mykhailo Mudryk, according to multiple reports.

Foot Mercato reports that both clubs are close to settling on a fee that meets in the middle between offer and demand.

Meanwhile, Yehor Danylov, editor of Ukrainian outlet sportarena has stated that discussions are so advanced that they are now discussing the bonus structure.

"The London club wants bonuses to be at least 30% of the entire transfer fee, Shakhtar wants bonuses to be a maximum of 20%," Danylov said.

Mudryk has been expected to join Arsenal this month, as the Gunners have been in negotiations for the winger since last summer.

But there have been fears over the last week or so that they may lose the player to Chelsea, who have made their own move for the Shakhtar Donetsk winger.

Arsenal confident of signing Mudryk

But Arsenal have remained confident throughout that they would get their man, and their hopes have been further strengthened by the news that Chelsea are about to sign Joao Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal their first official offer for the 21-year-old Mudryk a fortnight ago, offering a fixed fee of around €40m which would rise to €62m with bonuses.

However, Shakhtar immediately rejected the bid and sensationally told Arsenal that they expected a bid close to the €118m that Man City paid for Jack Grealish in 2021. It is widely reported that Shakhtar are in reality hoping to get around €100m.

Now, it appears that Arsenal and Shakhtar will meet somewhere in the middle.

Mudryk has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal of €5.5m per year plus bonuses on a contract until 2028.

The winger has made clear on his social media posts in recent months just how much he wants to join the club.

The 21-year-old is considered as one of the most exciting young wingers in Europe and his former Shakhtar boss Roberto De Zerbi - now at Brighton - recently said he is a future Ballon d’Or winner.

Mudryk has been in superb form for Shakhtar this season, scoring eight goals and making 10 assists from 18 games.
