England star out of the World Cup as Mexico celebrations soured by injury
It was one of the greatest nights in England's international football history as they overcame the nightmare atmosphere at the Azteca to defeat Mexico and progress to the World Cup quarter-final.
Jude Bellingham was the star of the show as two of his goals helped the Three Lions to their victory, while Harry Kane also scored from the penalty spot.
A second-half red card for Jarell Quansah meant England were on the back foot as the game progressed and a Raul Jimenez penalty in the 69th minute made it 3-2, ensuring a nerve-shredding last 20 minutes for Thomas Tuchel and his charges.
They held on, though, and booked their place in a quarter-final tie against Norway, who earlier that day had sensationally knocked out Brazil after a 2-1 win, with Erling Haaland scoring both goals.

The celebrations from the England players and staff were massive but, unfortunately, there was an injury casualty among the chaos.
Jordan Henderson, a controversial squad pick from Tuchel, will likely miss the rest of the World Cup after he suffered a serious wrist injury while falling over an advertising board to run on the pitch to celebrate.
Footage shows his arm folding underneath his body and he left the field on a stretcher while on oxygen.
Tuchel provided an update on his player post-match, confirming:
“Mixed feelings because I am exhausted, of course, and emotional but also sad because Jordan got injured,” England boss Tuchel said after the game.
“He injured his wrist. He is at the moment at the hospital, so it is quite a serious injury.
“It just doesn’t fit to the evening that Jordan is now not with us. I don’t know the procedure what is going on. I just did the press, and the doc told me he’s in hospital.”
Henderson did not travel back to base with the rest of his team-mates and spent time at a hospital in Mexico City.
