How much an England fan will pay if they go to every World Cup match including the final
England fans have learned how much they will have to pay if they want to follow the Three Lions from their opening group stage match to the final - should the nation reach the last match of World Cup.
The World Cup draw put England in a group alongside Croatia, Panama and Ghana. Should they reach the final, they will play eight matches in total - three in the group stage, the round of 32, the round of 16, the quarter-final, the semi-final and then the final.
FIFA has already received widespread condemnation for the prices of World Cup match tickets. Even though they initially promised $60 tickets would be on sale, they are a very small percentage of the available tickets and they were all snapped up almost immediately.
Dynamic pricing is in place which means increased demand leads to increased prices. On FIFA's official resale platform, they are taking 15% commission from every single sale.
When the tickets initially went on sale, the group Football Supporters Europe released the below statement:
"We are astonished by the extortionate ticket prices imposed by FIFA on the most dedicated supporters for next year's World Cup.
"This is a monumental betrayal of the tradition of the World Cup, ignoring the contribution of fans to the spectacle it is.
"We call on FIFA to immediately halt PMA ticket sales, engage in a consultation with all impacted parties, and review ticket prices and category distribution until a solution that respects the tradition, universality, and cultural significance of the World Cup is found."
World Cup ticket prices for England fans
Over the eight potential matches, the lowest price an England fan can hope to pay is £164 for either the Panama or Ghana fixtures, which take place at the MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey and the Gillette Stadium in Boston, respectively.
If the Three Lions reach the World Cup final, the least they will pay is £3,120 and the most is around £6,471.
These prices are available to members of England Supporters Travel Club only.
