Heung-min Son praised for transforming LAFC attack since record transfer

Heung-min Son has been praised for transforming Los Angeles FC's forward line since his record transfer from Tottenham.

During the summer, the South Korea international became the most expensive player in the history of Major League Soccer when he joined LAFC for a cool $26 million fee.

And, you can see why LAFC bought him - at his peak, he was one of the best wingers in Europe and helped Tottenham win the Europa League last season as well as reach the Champions League final a few years ago.

Though he displayed signs of slowing down at the elite Premier League level, he has taken to MLS football like a duck to water.

MLS expert Tom Bogert has praised Son's impact on LAFC as well his developing partnership with team-mate Denis Bouanga.

"Anyone who had questions about whether Denis Bouanga and Son Heung-min were going to figure it out positionally and whether or not they were going to get in each other’s way - does that seem pretty stupid, right about now?" Bogert said on Golazo America.

"Son Heung-min has been phenomenal, he has been even better than expected.

"Since Son has debuted, LAFC are first in MLS goals, fourth in Expected Goals and fourth in chances created.

"Before he debuted, they were 12th, 10th and 20th in those same three categories.

"Since he debuted, Denis Bouanga is by far the highest scorer in the MLS, and Son is second. An unbelievable transformation in this attack.

"Right now, they are the best duo in Major League Soccer."
