Endrick to Arsenal: Mikel Arteta handed dream opportunity to complete deal

Arsenal have been handed a dream opportunity to sign Real Madrid striker Endrick following talks over a deal in late August.

The Brazil international was expected to play a prominent role for Los Blancos this season, after an eye-catching loan spell at Lyon, but he is once again rotting on the bench at the Bernabeu.

Endrick missed the first four La Liga matches of the season through injury, but he returned to Real Madrid’s matchday against Inter Milan in the Champions League in midweek, before being an unused substitute again versus Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.

The 20-year-old arrived at Real Madrid as one of the best striker prospects in world football, however he is still yet to establish himself as a regular in the Spanish capital and he has only started nine matches for Los Blancos to date, with five of those coming in the Copa del Rey.

As a result, he was linked with an exit over the summer and while opportunities were expected to increase following the sale of Gonzalo Garcia to Fulham, Real Madrid responded to that transfer by signing Levante centre forward Carlos Espi.

Endrick is now third in the pecking order, behind Espi and Kylian Mbappe, and although Jose Mourinho blocked an exit during the summer window, the Brazilian could be set to leave the club in 2027.

The Athletic have confirmed that a review will take place before the January transfer window as Real Madrid consider another loan move, although Endrick himself could feasibly push for a permanent move away from the Bernabeu following his struggles for game time since his arrival at the club.

Endrick to Arsenal?

Several Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for the 20-year-old in recent months, with Chelsea and Manchester United both regarded as long-term admirers of the striker, dating back to his time at Palmeiras.

However, it was Arsenal who held exploratory talks with Real Madrid over a potential move in late August, as per talkSPORT.

A deal didn’t materialise, but Arsenal were interested in Endrick after failing to convince Julian Alvarez to join the club and they could feasibly rekindle their pursuit of his signature next year if he continues to struggle for game time at Real Madrid.

Kai Havertz has excelled in a centre forward role so far this season, but Viktor Gyokeres’ future in north London may be in doubt and Endrick could be signed as a replacement for the Sweden striker.
