Official: Liverpool complete €145m Bradley Barcola signing

Liverpool have officially completed the signing of PSG winger Bradley Barcola.

The Reds' months-long pursuit of the France international has come to a satisfactory conclusion for everyone involved. Liverpool secure their top target for the flanks, Barcola joins a club where he is guaranteed minutes and PSG make an eye-watering profit.

Signed from Lyon in 2023 for €45 million, the Champions League winners could end up €100m in the green on Barcola thanks to Liverpool shelling out €125m upfront and a potential further €20m in bonuses.

Barcola has thus become Liverpool's joint-second-most expensive acquisition alongside Florian Wirtz, and he could yet match Alexander Isak in top spot should his add-ons be triggered.

The Reds' veneer of frugality was shattered last year, and they're now doubling down on their new approach to the market with another blockbuster deal. That said, they may yet lose Cody Gakpo for up to €100m and could still be left short of options despite their hefty investment.

Liverpool sign Barcola

In Barcola, Liverpool have signed a hugely exciting talent. The 23-year-old has 28 senior France caps to his name and can play on both wings, which is an attribute Reds boss Andoni Iraola looks for when signing wide players.

The Frenchman becomes Liverpool's second winger signing of the summer after Victor Munoz, but they could yet add another player in that department. Ismaila Sarr is pushing to join from Crystal Palace, while Yankuba Minteh remains a target, but Brighton's asking price is a problem.

For now, Iraola will be delighted to have finally secured his top target. As for Barcola, he is chomping at the bit to get started. "It took a long time but I'm really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play," he said.

"I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League - it's one of my biggest dreams in my life. It is to do that and to stay in this team in the long term - that's why I signed a long contract - and I hope I can do it.

"I had the chance to play twice in this stadium [Anfield] and I saw the atmosphere and how the fans were behind the Liverpool players. When I knew about Liverpool's interest in me, I didn't ask questions and I knew it was a very big club for me."
