Ederson deal close
Man Utd are expected to sign two new central midfielders this summer and Atalanta star Ederson is set to become their first signing of the transfer window, with a deal close to being finalised.
This has been confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who told his YouTube channel: “Intermediaries continue to work on the deal and discussions have already reached a very advanced stage. On the player's side, everything is effectively agreed. What remains are the final details between the clubs.
“With new leadership now in place, particularly at sporting director level, Atalanta are in a position to finalise the agreement and complete negotiations over the financial structure of the transfer.
“Contrary to some reports from Italy, the fee was never expected to exceed €50 million. Man Utd remain hopeful of completing the deal for around €40 million. Discussions continue regarding the final details, but unless something unexpected happens, I fully expect Ederson to become a Man Utd player.”

Rafael Leao confirms summer ambition
Man Utd have been heavily linked with Rafael Leao in recent weeks, amid their pursuit of a new left winger, and he has now confirmed that he wants to leave AC Milan before the end of the summer transfer window.
“Personally, I've given everything at AC Milan. It's a club that helped me grow a lot and supported me through tough times,” he told Sport TV.
“Fortunately, I managed to make my mark in their history. Everyone has ambitions and I dream of a new challenge in a new league. If that happens, I'll be very happy and fulfilled because I did my job at AC Milan.”
Leao has been earmarked as a potential summer signing for Man Utd, and they have been tipped to negotiate a deal for the Portugal international as they look to bolster the attacking options available to Michael Carrick.
Aurelien Tchouameni update
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has insisted Aurelien Tchouameni will not be sold this summer, despite strong speculation linking the midfielder with a big-money move to Man Utd.
The France international was involved in a bust-up with team-mate Federico Valverde in early May and he has subsequently been tipped to depart the Bernabeu, with Man Utd among the clubs eyeing a possible move.
However, in an interview with Spanish outlet El Pais, Real president Perez was adamant Tchouameni will remain in the Spanish capital beyond the summer transfer window, while he also ruled out selling Federico Valverde.
When asked about the midfield pair’s futures, Perez simply said: “Valverde and Tchouameni will stay? For me, yes, of course.”
Marc Pubill wanted
Man Utd have added Atletico Madrid defender Marc Pubill to their list of summer targets, as per a report from CaughtOffside.
The Spain international caught the eye during his debut campaign under Diego Simeone and his form has reportedly attracted the attention of Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Atleti have no intention of selling the 22-year-old this summer and his €500m release clause means that a deal could be difficult to finalise.
