Man Utd Transfer News Today: Midfielder signing close as Anderson agreement reached
All the latest Man Utd transfer news in one place, including updates on Elliot Anderson, Ederson and Bremer.
Anderson "agrees" Man City move
Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson has reached an "agreement in principle" to join Man City, Nicolo Schira claims.
The England star is a priority target for Man Utd, but he now looks set to join the Red Devils' local rivals if Man City can reach an agreement with Forest, which could yet prove a major stumbling block.
The Reds are expected to demand a fee north of €100 million for Anderson, with some reports suggesting that he could become Man City's new record signing, surpassing the €117.5m figure paid for Jack Grealish.
Ederson deal close
One consolation for Man Utd will be the seemingly impending signing of Atalanta midfielder Ederson, according to Ben Jacobs.
The Red Devils are accelerating on a deal for the Brazil international and have now formally opened talks with Atalanta over a fee. An agreement on personal terms is already believed to be in place.
Ederson has informed Atalanta that he will not extend his current contract, which is set to expire next year. That means that he will be sold by the Bergamo club shortly.
Bremer offer ready?
Man Utd have prepared a €58m offer for Juventus centre-back Bremer, TuttoJuve writes.
It is claimed that Man Utd are "seeking an experienced, physical defender." Reports elsewhere in Italy recently stated that Bremer could be convinced to leave Juventus if they fail to qualify for the Champions League this weekend.
Man Utd were mentioned as one of his potential landing spots. An offer is said to be ready, but Juventus do not want to lose their defensive star and will try to resist the temptation to cash in on him.
Carrick officially appointed
Man Utd have officially upgraded Michael Carrick's job title from interim to permanent head coach.
The former midfielder has steered the Red Devils back into the Champions League after replacing Ruben Amorim in January, following a brief two-game caretaker spell from former teammate Darren Fletcher.
Carrick has signed a two-year contract with Man Utd, running until 2028. He had been the obvious choice for the job for weeks due to his successful interim tenure, with the players backing his permanent appointment.
