Established in 2008, Roc Nation works in music, artist management, sports representation, publishing, and brand partnerships.

It is often described as a full-service company for performers and athletes, because it can help with career management, marketing, endorsements, media, and business strategy.

Though the company represents famous people from various forms of entertainment, in their football roster they have Vinicius Junior, Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Martinelli, Lucas Paqueta, Endrick, and Federico Dimarco, among others.

They have established a new partnership with Chelsea in order to expand the brand of the club in the United States as the popularity of soccer continues to grow in the country.

Roc Nation Sports international president Michael Yormark said: “Football has never been more culturally influential in the US. Our ambition is to help Chelsea show up in the moments, platforms, and conversations that truly matter to the modern fan.”

Chelsea sources told The Athletic also said the club wants to engage its fanbase in “innovative” ways that go beyond the 90 minutes on the pitch, pointing to examples such as campaign videos featuring WWE wrestlers and limited-edition Chelsea clothing ranges created with OVO, which they believe will appeal more to a younger generation of fans.

The club released a lengthy statement outlining why they have partnered with Roc Nation.

"Chelsea Football Club today announces a new strategic partnership with Roc Nation Sports International (RNSI), marking a significant step in the club’s ambition to accelerate growth and deepen fan engagement across the United States and beyond," Chelsea's official website reads.

"Founded in 2008, Roc Nation is a world-renowned full-service entertainment company encompassing artist management, publishing, touring, film and philanthropy. Following the 2013 launch of Roc Nation Sports in the U.S., the agency further expanded its footprint in September 2019 with the opening of its London office.

"Over the last seven years, RNSI has established itself as one of the top 10 football agencies in the world, delivering premium 360-degree representation to a world-class roster of clients and global sports organisations.

"The partnership with Chelsea FC will focus on positioning us at the intersection of football, music, culture and entertainment, leveraging culturally relevant collaborations to drive brand awareness and meaningful fan engagement in the U.S. market.

"Through a connected strategy spanning music, influencer and sports-led storytelling, the collaboration will aim to expand the club’s reach among U.S. audiences while increasing engagement across key platforms.

"At the heart of the partnership is a shared belief that football culture extends far beyond the pitch. Together, Chelsea FC and Roc Nation will develop campaigns and activations that authentically tap into U.S. pop culture, positioning the club as a relevant and aspirational lifestyle brand.

"Scott Fenton, brand director for Chelsea Football Club, welcomed this exciting partnership by saying: ‘This partnership represents a major step forward in how we connect with our fans in the United States. By leaning into culture, music and creativity, we’re building deeper, more authentic relationships with a new generation of supporters.’

"The partnership will roll out through a series of integrated campaigns, content drops and live experiences over the coming months."

In the music business, Roc Nation represents big acts like Rihanna, J Balvin, Alicia Keys, John Legend and Christina Aguilera.
