National League side Wealdstone FC were surprised to find out that their player Sak Hassan competed in the Baller League on Monday.

The UK iteration of the celebrity six-a-side tournament is in its second season. During Monday night's event, the team of YouTuber KSI, Prime FC, defeated N5 FC 7-3.

Among the players to feature for Prime FC was Somalia international Sak Hassan, who is under contract with Wealdstone FC in the National League. The Dutch-born attacker is no stranger to the competition. Last year, he featured for John Terry's Baller League side, the 26ers.

Hassan is also used to playing in front of the cameras. He was previously on the books at Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Hashtag United, the team founded by YouTuber Spencer Owen.

His participation in Monday's event, however, came out of the blue for Wealdstone. In a statement, the club announced that they were unaware of Hassan's involvement with KSI's team and that they did not give permission for him to play.

KSI accused of "tapping up" Hassan

"We are aware that Sak Hassan, under contract with Wealdstone FC, appeared in this evening’s Baller League," the Stones' statement read. "The club was not approached for permission for Sak to participate, nor were we made aware of his involvement in advance.

"We will now be following up with both the Baller League and the player directly. No further comment will be made until those discussions have taken place."

However, the story doesn't end there. During the event, KSI explained how the "signing" of Hassan came about and that he spoke to him about potentially getting involved in the "big thing" he was working on.

What he was referring to was, of course, Dagenham and Redbridge, the National League South side he acquired a minority stake in earlier this month with the goal of emulating Wrexham FC and eventually reaching the Premier League.

Given that Wealdstone were completely blindsided by Hassan's involvement with the Baller League, fans on social media have concluded that KSI's discussion with the 24-year-old over a move to the Daggers - even if he didn't mention them by name - amounts to "tapping up."

Asked by YouTuber Chunkz about Hassan, KSI said: "You mentioned him to me, so I talked to him, and I was like, 'Bro, I got a big thing coming.' At this point, I didn't mention Daggers. I was like, 'Bro, I got big things.' So, there's that, and then I also said, 'Bro, think of the clout!'"
