Transfer Rumours: Ousmane Dembele wants Chelsea as €200m message issued
FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 20 February, including the latest updates on Ousmane Dembele and Julian Alvarez.
Ousmane Dembele wants Chelsea
Rumoured Arsenal target Ousmane Dembele has offered himself to Chelsea amid growing tension at PSG, according to a report.
The France international finds himself increasingly isolated at the Parc des Princes and the growing speculation surrounding Dembele has given rise to transfer rumours, with Arsenal among the clubs associated with a potential move for the 28-year-old.
Fichajes now claims that Dembele is keen on a move to the Premier League and that he has even begun offering his services to clubs - but not to Arsenal. Instead, the Spanish publication states that the Frenchman has contacted Chelsea.
Dembele would jump at the chance to move to Stamford Bridge in what is being described as the potential "transfer of the century" by the report.
Julian Alvarez price tag
Atletico Madrid will demand a fee of €200 million to sell Julian Alvarez this summer, according to a bombshell report in Spain.
Barcelona are currently considered to be the frontrunners for Alvarez’s signature this summer, but Arsenal are set to pursue a deal too amid Viktor Gyokeres’ struggles in front of goal since his arrival from Sporting CP last year.
Reports indicate that Mikel Arteta has identified Alvarez as one of his top targets for 2026, although Spanish publication Fichajes claim that it could take a fee of €200m to acquire the Argentina superstar.
His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €117.5m, however Atleti are keen to maximise their potential profit and are expected to demand a staggering price this summer.
EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal in talks over Rafael Leao deal
Arsenal have held initial talks with Rafael Leao’s representatives as they eye a potential summer move for the AC Milan superstar, FootballTransfers understands.
Sources have informed us that Milan are prepared to sell Leao for a fee in the region of €75-80 million and he has been earmarked as Arsenal’s primary attacking target for the upcoming summer window.
We understand that Manchester United are also strongly interested in the 26-year-old, although Arsenal are the frontrunners to secure his signature as things stand.
Gunners sporting director Andrea Berta has already held face-to-face talks with Leao’s representatives and although the Portugal international is yet to discuss a potential Arsenal switch, he has informed his camp to engage in negotiations over a summer deal.
Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo want new Chelsea contracts
Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are reportedly among the Chelsea stars keen to negotiate improved contract terms with the Blues hierarchy this year.
The former’s deal isn’t due to expire until 2032 and the latter is committed until 2031, with the option for an additional 12 months. As a result, Chelsea are under no pressure to agree fresh terms with the pair. However, they are both eager to be rewarded for their recent form at Stamford Bridge.
That is according to a report from The Athletic, who state that both Fernandez and Caicedo want to negotiate an improved contract with the club’s hierarchy.
Crystal Palace in Oliver Glasner sack talks
Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner has been summoned before the board to discuss his immediate future, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Patience with Glasner is increasingly running thin and the Eagles slumped to a 1-1 draw with Bosnian side Zrinjski Mostar in the Conference League on Thursday, a competition they are expected to win.
Although the second leg will take place at Selhurst Park next week, Glasner may no longer have a job by that point. According to Fabrizio Romano, discussions are currently taking place over the Austrian's immediate future.
The transfer insider reports that Glasner's exit could come "shortly" should the Palace board indeed decide to relieve him of his duties. It comes after Palace fans made their feelings on the 51-year-old clear.
Josh Sargent to leave Norwich
Toronto have agreed a club-and MLS-record-shattering deal to sign Norwich City striker Josh Sargent.
The two clubs have finally managed to settle on a transfer fee after weeks of protracted and controversial negotiations. Sky Sports and Ben Jacobs report that Toronto will pay a whopping $27m (£20m, €23m) for the services of the United States international.
The Major League Soccer franchise began courting Sargent in late 2025, but discussions over a transfer proved exceptionally difficult due to Norwich insisting that he was not for sale in January.
However, the 26-year-old made it clear to the Canaries that he wanted to take the opportunity to join Toronto in order to allow him to return to North America. Sargent has three young children and wants to head back across the pond.
Liverpool lead Mateus Mane race
Liverpool are reportedly leading Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers wonderkid Mateus Mane this summer.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd are among the teams keeping close tabs on Mane’s development and it is Arne Slot’s side who are currently leading the race for his signature, as per CaughtOffside.
The Reds are understood to have held face-to-face talks with Mane’s representatives over a potential summer move and they are ready to submit a formal offer for his services when the 2026 summer transfer window opens.
