Man Utd eye shock summer move for Chelsea star as talks confirmed
Manchester United are reportedly among the clubs keeping close tabs on Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich.
The Senegal striker was cast aside by former Blues boss Enzo Maresca last summer and after rumoured interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Man Utd, he eventually moved to the Allianz Arena on a season-long loan deal for €16.5 million.
The deal also included an obligation to buy clause for €65m if certain conditions were met, however Jackson will not achieve the necessary criteria to join Bayern permanently and widespread reports have confirmed that he will return to Chelsea in July.
It remains to be seen if new boss Liam Rosenior will look to reintegrate the 24-year-old into the first-team fold at Stamford Bridge, but the early indications suggest that Chelsea will aim to sell Jackson if they receive a suitable offer.
The ex-Villarreal star has only scored five goals in 22 games for Bayern so far this season and with Emmanuel Emegha joining the Blues from Strasbourg this summer, there is unlikely to be room for Jackson unless Liam Delap is offloaded after just one campaign at the club.
Nicolas Jackson to leave Chelsea?
With Jackson set to be on the market ahead of the 2026-27 season, several teams are keeping close tabs on his current situation.
That is according to a report from TEAMtalk, who claim that Aston Villa, Man Utd, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in signing the 24-year-old when the upcoming summer transfer window opens.
Jackson’s representatives are reportedly already in talks with intermediaries regarding a potential summer deal, while the Chelsea hierarchy are aware that a permanent sale could be the best option for all parties.
Atletico Madrid are also monitoring a possible move for Jackson amid concerns that Julian Alvarez could depart the club after a successful two-year stint at the Wanda Metropolitano.
