Liverpool Transfer News Today: €100m bid prepared amid Mateus Mane battle
Liverpool are already laying the plans for their title push next season, with transfer updates on Mateus Mane, Micky van de Van and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Liverpool ready to beat Arsenal to Mateus Mane
Arne Slot is determined that Liverpool win the race for Wolves sensation Mateus Mane.
The 18-year-old has exploded onto the Premier League scene this season with the league’s bottom side, netting two goals in 16 appearances for the Molineux outfit, prompting Wolves to slap a €60 million asking price on his head.
Although Arsenal and Manchester United are chasing the young attacker, the Reds are determined to win the race for the player and have already held face-to-face talks with the representatives of the teenager.
Slot launches €100m Van de Ven bid
Liverpool are ready to throw more money at their central defensive issues, with Slot eyeing a €100m bid for compatriot Micky van de Ven.
Although Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet will join the Anfield club in the summer, the Reds are reportedly ready to launch a big-money move for the Tottenham centre-back.
Van de Ven is seen by Liverpool as the heir to Virgil van Dijk in the middle of the Merseyside’s club rearguard, Fichajes reports.
Liverpool chase Nathaniel Brown
Liverpool are tracking Eintracht Frankfurt full-back Nathaniel Brown, who the Bundesliga side are hoping to attract bids in the region of €70m for.
Frankfurt could be forced to negotiate on this figure, but any discount will not necessarily be large, despite the club being pressured to sell.
Manchester United have been scouting the player extensively and Arsenal are also interested.
Trent set for Premier League return
Trent Alexander-Arnold continues to find life difficult with Real Madrid and has been earmarked to return to the Premier League in the summer.
If his departure from Liverpool last summer prompted anger on Merseyside, his next move could make fans even angrier as Manchester United want to sign him, according to Fichajes.
Real Madrid have no intention of allowing the right-back to leave, though.
Liverpool get Karl update
Liverpool and Arsenal have checked in on Bayern Munich sensation Lennart Karl ahead of his 18th birthday but have been told that the teenager will not be going anywhere, according to TeamTalk.
“Karl does not want to be anywhere else, his future is at Bayern Munich and he is determined to become a centre-piece of the future,” a source is reported to have said.
“Yes, there is no denying interest, but that is very much par for the course for such a talent as him.”
