Chelsea Transfer News Today: Fernandez decision confirmed as Dembele chases move
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Chelsea transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Enzo Fernandez and Ousmane Dembele.
Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo want new Chelsea contracts
Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are reportedly among the Chelsea stars keen to negotiate improved contract terms with the Blues hierarchy this year.
The former’s deal isn’t due to expire until 2032 and the latter is committed until 2031, with the option for an additional 12 months. As a result, Chelsea are under no pressure to agree fresh terms with the pair. However, they are both eager to be rewarded for their recent form at Stamford Bridge.
That is according to a report from The Athletic, who state that both Fernandez and Caicedo want to negotiate an improved contract with the club’s hierarchy.
Ousmane Dembele wants Chelsea
Rumoured Arsenal target Ousmane Dembele has offered himself to Chelsea amid growing tension at PSG, according to a report.
The France international finds himself increasingly isolated at the Parc des Princes and the growing speculation surrounding Dembele has given rise to transfer rumours, with Arsenal among the clubs associated with a potential move for the 28-year-old.
Fichajes now claims that Dembele is keen on a move to the Premier League and that he has even begun offering his services to clubs - but not to Arsenal. Instead, the Spanish publication states that the Frenchman has contacted Chelsea.
Dembele would jump at the chance to move to Stamford Bridge in what is being described as the potential "transfer of the century" by the report.
Julian Alvarez price tag
Atletico Madrid will demand a fee of €200 million to sell Julian Alvarez this summer, according to a bombshell report in Spain.
Barcelona are currently considered to be the frontrunners for Alvarez’s signature this summer, but Arsenal and Chelsea are also reportedly set to pursue a deal too.
The Blues have added Alvarez to their transfer wishlist for the upcoming transfer window, although Spanish publication Fichajes claim that it could take a fee of €200m to acquire the Argentina superstar.
His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €117.5m, however Atleti are keen to maximise their potential profit and are expected to demand a staggering price this summer.
Emmanuel Fernandez latest
Rangers are desperate to rebuff any approaches they receive for Emmanuel Fernandez this summer, as per Football Insider.
Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs to have been linked with a move for the centre-back in recent weeks, but Danny Rohl’s side are keen to retain his services after an impressive debut campaign at Ibrox.
It will therefore take a sizeable offer to tempt the Scottish Premiership giants into a summer sale.
Lucas Bergvall boost
Chelsea have received encouragement that a deal for Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall could be possible this summer.
The Blues launched a surprise January enquiry for the Sweden starlet and despite failing in their bid to secure his signature, they could rekindle their interest ahead of the 2026-27 season.
In fact, according to Football Insider, Chelsea believe they may be able to tempt Bergvall into a move this summer amid Tottenham’s current struggles.
Valentin Barco message
Strasbourg boss Gary O’Neill has heaped praise on Valentin Barco amid significant rumours he could be set to join sister club Chelsea this summer.
The ex-Wolves manager told reporters: “His enthusiasm is important to us. In training as in matches, he wants to win everything. He wants his team to give its best.
“I'm really happy with him. He's in excellent form. He's managed to find the right balance: he's motivated, but he knows how to control himself. He's on the right track.”
