The 2026 January transfer window closes soon, with clubs now scrambling to add to their squads at a key part of the season.

Premier League clubs unsurprisingly dominated the spending charts during the 2025 summer transfer window.

This time last year, Manchester City spent a whopping €218 million on Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Juma Bah during the winter window in a bid to save a disappointing campaign under Pep Guardiola. Meanwhile, Jhon Duran joined Al-Nassr for €77m, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia moved from Napoli to Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of €70m, and RB Leipzig paid €50m to sign Xavi Simons permanently.

Pep has also splurged in 2026, bringing in Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi for around €97m, though they recouped €32m of that be selling Oscar Bobb to Fulham.

Bournemouth replaced Semenyo with exciting Brazilian forward Rayan for €28.5m.

A couple of other big deals included Conor Gallagher returning to the Premier League with Tottenham, who have also sold Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace.
