Tottenham centre-back Micky van de Ven is set to search for a summer transfer away from the North London club but has been told that he would be well advised to stick it out with Thomas Frank’s struggling side.

Spurs find themselves 14th in the Premier League standings, with manager Thomas Frank under pressure after a poor run of form.

Indykaila reports that Van de Ven is ready to weigh up his options amid the club’s ongoing struggles and could be on his way in the summer. Real Madrid have previously been linked with a move for him, although there is no indication he remains a target for Los Blancos.

Tottenham are likely to resist any moves from the Netherlands star to allow him to depart as he ranks among their best performers, and according to SciSports’ data, Van de Ven would also be best served by staying put.

The data analytics company’s Career Advice tool shows that Spurs are the optimum club for the 24-year-old to continue his career.

Basing its calculation across a series of metrics, including personal development and playing time as well as system and style, SciSports believes that Van de Ven is in the best place to realise his potential – and by some distance.

Why Tottenham are best for Van de Ven’s future

Spurs are given a Club Fit score of 84, which is well in excess of Aston Villa (77) in third and Arsenal (76) in fourth.

Thomas Frank’s side score healthily across all metrics but do let Van de Ven down a little in terms of their playing style. By contrast, the Dutchman would likely face a battle to get into the Arsenal team, where his playing time is rated at two stars, suggesting that he is best sticking where he is.

Somewhat surprisingly, Villa offer Van de Ven offer the best development opportunities while Everton are reckoned to have the style that would bring the most out of his game.

When it comes to an all-round mix, though, Van de Ven is best staying at Tottenham, and he would be well advised to take that into account if he considers pushing for a move next summer.
