Arne Slot’s side spent a whopping €482.9m on seven new players last summer, but they have endured a tough start to the 2025-26 season and they are expected to dip back into the market this year.

The Reds have been tipped to sign at least one new centre-back as they prepare for the potential departure of Ibrahima Konate on a Bosman deal, while they are also expected to bolster their options in attack amid the uncertain future of Mohamed Salah.

The likes of Marc Guehi, Joel Ordonez and Yan Diomande have been heavily linked with an Anfield switch in recent weeks, and Bellingham has now been earmarked as a dream target by the Liverpool hierarchy.

That is according to a shock report from Fichajes, who claim that a €180m offer is currently being prepared by the reigning Premier League champions.

The Reds owners reportedly believe that adding a dominant midfielder will help them consistently challenge for major honours in the coming years and they are keen to finally secure Bellingham’s signature after losing out to Real Madrid during his time at Borussia Dortmund.

However, it’s reported that Real Madrid will not consider a sale in 2026, with the club unwilling to sanction a departure.

Chelsea face Jude Bellingham competition

News of Liverpool’s interest in Bellingham comes after reports suggested that Chelsea view the Englishman as their ideal replacement for Cole Palmer.

The former Manchester City star has been linked with a Stamford Bridge in recent weeks and FootballTransfers understands that Manchester United are eager to bring him to Old Trafford if Bruno Fernandes departs.

With Palmer’s future in west London now uncertain, Chelsea have reportedly identified Bellingham as a top transfer target, although they are set to face significant competition from Liverpool for his signature.
