Arsenal Transfer News Today: Yan Diomande update as January deal agreed
FootballTransfers runs through all the latest Arsenal transfer news and gossip, including updates from Yan Diomande and Maldini Kacurri.
Yan Diomande blow
Arsenal have been dealt a major blow in their bid to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande this summer.
The Ivorian has been identified as a top target by the Gunners hierarchy, but Real Madrid have also now registered their interest in completing a move, with head scout Juni Calafat identifying him as a suitable target if Vinicius Jr or Rodrygo opt to leave the Bernabeu this summer.
That is according to Spanish publication Defensa Central, who claim that Los Blancos will continue to monitor Diomande’s development for the remainder of the 2025-26 season ahead of a potential pursuit later this year.
January deal agreed
Arsenal have agreed to sell 20-year-old defender Maldini Kacurri to League Two side Grimsby Town for an undisclosed fee, as per a report from The Mirror.
The Albanian joined the Gunners from Fulham’s academy back in 2022 and he returned from a promising loan spell at Morecambe earlier this month.
Kacurri made just one first-team appearance for Arsenal and a deal has been agreed for him to become a permanent Grimsby player, with the fourth tier side now finalising personal terms with the defender.
Eduardo Camavinga competition
Liverpool and Arsenal are set to lock horns in the transfer market as the two Premier League giants fight to sign Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid, according to CaughtOffside.
Liverpool broke the Premier League transfer record on two occasions last summer and they are now being tipped to “break the bank” in order to beat Arsenal to Camavinga.
However, Mikel Arteta is a strong admirer of the player and the Spaniard appreciates his ability to play in multiple positions, including left-back.
Arsenal eye Freiburg midfielder
Arsenal are among the clubs eager to sign SC Freiburg midfielder Johan Manzambi, as per a report from SportsBoom.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed an eye-catching 2025-26 season and Freiburg have slapped a €55m asking price on his head amid growing transfer interest.
Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli are all interested in landing the Switzerland international, however Manchester United are reportedly leading the race for his signature as things stand.
Oleksandr Zinchenko talks
Arsenal are in “tense talks” with Nottingham Forest as they look to terminate Oleksandr Zinchenko’s loan deal at the City Ground.
The Ukraine international has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under Sean Dyche and Arsenal are eager to cut his loan move short in order to sanction a permanent sale to Ajax before the end of Deadline Day.
Negotiations are ongoing, according to Football.London, but an agreement has not yet been reached, despite reports to the contrary.
